O
Hi everyone- I recently just got back from Dallas fishing Lake Lewisville for the first stop of the WBT 2008
season. I flew to Texas, and aside from them losing my rods, which I hear is normal, all went well. I was able to
squeeze in a couple of pre fishing days with my friend Laura Gober. The day before the tournament, we had
tornado warnings. We had 80mph winds up until 1 hour before I left for the ramp. It looked like the Wizard of OZ
outside. That kind of set the scene for some wild Texas weather. We had high winds, cold fronts & bluebird
skies. I was 25th going into Day Two with one pound needed to make the cut. I ended up in 36th place after
Day Two. I got 203pts, which is a great start to the new year. I leave next week for stop number 2 at Neeley
Henry in Alabama
On April 30th I fished in a tournament up at Candlewood Lake in Ct with Bergen Bassmasters. The practice
leading up to the tournament was amazing. It dumped 2" of rain on our heads, but the small mouth bass were
totally biting. I caught a 4.1lb smallie, a personal best, in practice on Monday. Check out the photo to the left.
Sorry for the poor quality, but i didn't bring my camera because of the rain. A cell phone pic was the best I could
get. I ended up in 22nd place with four fish during the tournament. I lost my fifth keeper 30 minutes before we
had to head in..grr. I could have used a bigger one like this monster, as a 5th kicker fish. That would have
helped :)
I'm headed down to Alabama in two weeks for the second stop of the WBT at Lake Neely Henry. Neeley
Henry is off the Coosa River and known for its big spotted bass over 4lbs. I'm looking forward to some
awesome river fishing. Wish me luck! Stacy Z ---
I would like to thank my sponsors for helping me pursue my dream of competitive Bass Fishing. Without their
support, none of this would be possible.
